The short version
This site sets nothing beyond what it needs to function until you tell us otherwise. There is no analytics tag and no advertising pixel running on this page unless you have switched it on. If you have not made a choice yet, the answer is no.
What a cookie is here
We use the word loosely, as the law does. It covers cookies, local storage and anything else that stores information on your device or reads information already there. The rule is the same for all of them: consent first, except where the storage is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for.
What we currently store
Your cookie choice. When you accept or reject, we keep a record in your browser's local storage under ylu.consent.v1. It holds the categories you allowed, the date and time, and a version number. It never leaves your device and it is not a tracking identifier. This is strictly necessary storage: without it we would have to ask you on every page.
That is the only thing this site stores of its own accord. If analytics or advertising are ever switched on, this notice will name them here before a single one of them is allowed to load.
The three categories
Strictly necessary. Keeps the site working and remembers your cookie choice. Cannot be switched off, and needs no consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.
Analytics. Anonymous counts of which pages get read and for how long, so we know what to improve. Off until you allow it.
Advertising. Lets us measure which adverts brought someone here. These set third-party cookies and may share information with the advertising platform. Off until you allow it.
Changing your mind
Use the small round control at the bottom-left of any page, or now. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as consenting, which Article 7(3) of the GDPR requires. Clearing your browser storage also resets the choice, and you will be asked again on your next visit.
Other places on our estate
Checkout. Payment is handled by Stripe. Once you reach Stripe's own checkout page, Stripe sets cookies it needs to process the payment and to prevent fraud. Those are governed by Stripe's own notice, not this one.
The platform. Signing in at app.yourlegacyco.com uses Firebase Authentication, which stores a session token on your device. That token is what keeps you signed in; it is strictly necessary and cannot be declined while remaining signed in.
Fonts. The typeface on this site is served by Fontshare. Requesting a font discloses your IP address to them. No cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device.
How long any of it lasts
Your consent record persists until you clear it or until we change the categories, at which point the old record stops applying and you are asked again. Session storage used to keep you signed in ends when the session does.
